What We Believe

Our Beliefs

Our Faith, Rooted in Scripture and the Baptist Tradition.

We regard the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689

01

The Word of God

The Bible is the revealed Word of God, fully and verbally inspired, written under the direction of the Holy Spirit, and without error in the original manuscripts.

02

The Trinity

There is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices.

03

God the Father

God the Father is an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love, who concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of each person and answers prayer.

04

God the Son

Jesus Christ, existing eternally as God's Son, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and accomplished our redemption through His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, and ascension into heaven.

05

God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit, sent by the Father and the Son, convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and regenerates, sanctifies and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ, indwelling every believer.

06

Angels

Angels are a distinct order of created spiritual beings who serve God. Satan, a fallen angel, and his evil angels exercise power that is great but limited, and will face final defeat.

07

Creation

The Triune God created everything, both physical and spiritual, out of nothing, and created human beings, male and female, in His own image and with unique, intrinsic worth.

08

Humanity

Adam and Eve were created in a perfect relationship with their Creator, but sinned by choosing to disobey God, bringing death to the human race.

09

Regeneration

All people are sinners by nature and by choice and are under condemnation; those who repent of their sins and trust Jesus Christ are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

10

The Church

The universal church is the living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head, called to bring the good news of Jesus Christ into our lost world; local churches are congregations of baptized believers.

11

Christian Conduct

Christians should live for the glory of God and the well-being of others, conducting themselves blamelessly before the world and serving as faithful stewards of their possessions.

12

Ordinances

Christ committed two ordinances to the local church: Christian baptism, the immersion of a believer in water, and the Lord's Supper, observed in remembrance of Christ's death until His return.

13

Religious Freedom

Every person is directly responsible to God in matters of faith, and believers are free to covenant together in autonomous congregations without undue interference.

14

Church Cooperation

Local churches can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with one another in an association of like-minded congregations — voluntarily entered into and free to terminate at any time.

15

Last Things

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, and the eternal joy of the believer in the presence of God.
